Thank you so much to Professor Martin Luytjes from Jacksonville University for being our speaker at our last meeting.

We also inducted Sam Sorota into our club.  Sam is going to be a great addition to our club!  Welcome Sam!

GO VOTE (AGAIN)!
Nominations for next year’s board was announced at the last meeting.  The voting will open today.  Members that are current with their dues will receive a link to a survey monkey to vote.  The voting will stay open for one week.  Any questions, please see incoming president Tony Brazell.  The new board will be announced at our next membership meeting on Thursday, May 26th.

On Friday, Rotary was the Charity of the day at TPC.  Thanks to our members Quang Ly, Tatty Chavez, Katie Pollari and guest Ashley Blume for volunteering with fellow Rotarians to raise awareness of Rotary International.

This weekend was our Rotary District’s 6970 Conference & Assembly.  The Alumni Association Chartered and our fellow Rotaractor Andrew Smith is a Charter Member.

SAVE THE DATE – Saturday, May 21st
Jacksonville Rotaract Games 2016
This is a field-day sporting event with all three Rotaract Clubs in Jacksonville.  It’s a fun morning of games and a great way to meet other Rotaractors.  A “player’s fee’ to consist of a non-perishable food item that will be donated to Feeding Northeast Florida.

Community Service


Saturday, May 28th 1pm-3pm

Save-the-Date for our next service event.  We will be volunteering with Daniel’s Kids 
We will be participating in their “Play Day Open House.” We will team up with the kids to play some kickball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, ect.  If you plan to volunteer, you will need to fill out a form of Good Moral Character – notarized.  These will be available at our next meeting & Community Service Chair Quang Ly will notarize them.

On May 24th at Mandarin High School – a special event needs assistance with grading Math Exams in the evening from 5pm-7pm – you can come earlier if available.  No advanced math skills needed.

Rotary Club of South Jacksonville Fundraiser

Join the Rotarians of South Jacksonville & the Satellite members at their annual fundraiser.  Enjoy an evening at the Alhambra theater.  Tickets are discounted to Rotaractors for $75/person.  If interested, please email jaxrotaract@gmail.com & we will give you the contact info to purchase your ticket.

Special Events

Monday, May23rd – Event for Rotary Club of East Arlington

The Beaches Rotaract Club is hosting a fundraiser at Table 1 on Thursday, June 16th to benefit Daytona State College Rotaract Club Hug it Forward to build bottle schools in Guatemala.   Hopefully, you were at the meeting when Michael Tirpak presented this project and his passion for it.  This will be a great event to support and it falls on a third Thursday, a non-club meeting Thursday.  Tickets are $25 and the event can be found on facebook.
