Rotaractor of the Year

Rotaractor of the Year or The Scott Amos award is given in recognition of outstanding dedication to community service, club service and professional development. The member who is chosen as the Rotaractor of the Year and receives the Scott Amos Award shows the true embodiment of Rotaract values.

The Scott Amos Award is named in honor of the late Randall “Scott” Amos (1979-2006). Scott was a dedicated Rotaractor within the Rotaract Club of Florida’s First Coast. He enjoyed community service and was the Chairman of the Professional Development committee. In the professional arena Scott was the chief assistant tax collector of Duval County, under Mike Hogan.

Scott didn’t know a stranger and was drawn to visitors at Rotaract meetings. Scott always made visitors feel welcome by having GENUINE conversations, which is a rare quality.

The Dogwood Tree rendering on the face of the award symbolizes the remembrance of the past and at the same time a renewing of life. On Arbor Day, April 27, 2007 a dogwood tree was planted in Scott’s memory on the south lawn of the Davis College of Business within the Jacksonville University campus.

Our 2026 Rotaractor of the Year was Kelsea Peacock! She worked very hard over the last year to grow our club by 180%, moving us from an “endangered” Status to one of the largest clubs in the district, and helping to organize over 500 community service hours and 23 social events for the 2026 year.

The Heart of Service was awarded to Leah Del Rosario, who logged over 50 hours of community service just with First Coast Rotaract, an especially impressive feat considering she joined in February and our fiscal year ended in July! Leah always shows up with a great attitude and gives every community service event her all.

Mitchell Wagner won our Professional Development award for this year by attending the largest number of regular meetings of any non-board member. He showed the ultimate commitment to our club networking goals by ensuring he was always present!

Rishabh Prakash received our Social Butterfly award this year by attending 15 social events, and even helping to organize some ad-hoc ones of his own! Our club’s growth would not be possible without the positive social environment that he helped to foster over our 2025-2026 year.
