Launch Party with Rotary
November 5th 5:30-7:30

We have been invited to join our sponsoring Rotary club & the new Satellite Club on Thursday, November 5th from 5:30-730 at River City Brewing Company.
The Rotary Club of South Jacksonville and the Speech Committee invite you to the official launch party for the 2016 Rotary Oratory Competition!
They will be fundraising for their Speech contest but all they want from us Rotaractors is to show up.  So SHOW UP!!  Invite a friend, a significant other or a potential member! Here is the facebook page so you can RSVP.

This will also be an historical event as it will be the first opportunity for fellowship among all three groups: the Lunch Club, the Satellite Committee and us the Rotaract Club.  Spouses and guests are welcome and we encourage their attendance as well.

There will be a cash bar and complimentary Hors d’ oeuvres, entertainment and  prizes will be included.  If you don’t have facebook you can RSVP to Rotarian Jacqueline Rudloff at Jacqueline.rudloff@db.com.

They are also looking for a few volunteers to greet people at check in, show Rotarians how to use their go-fund-me page via ipad.  If you have an extra ipad you can let us use for this event please let us know!
Club Social

Save the date for Friday, November 14th when we will go to  Catty Shack Ranch.
Meow! Meow! Meow! Let’s go on a guided tour and see all the big kitty cats (Siberian tigers, lions, cougars, black leopards, a bobcat, a coatimundi and foxes) at the sanctuary! Tours begin at 6:00 PM and leave approximately every 15 minutes. Tours last about 45 minutes.

But the most exciting part is feeding time. They suggest everyone arrive at the ranch by 7:00 PM to allow for adequate time for check-in and walking to the feeding point. At 7:30 PM, we will get to watch over 600 pounds of meat distributed throughout the sanctuary! Get ready to see their “wild” side – there’s sure to be plenty of roaring!

Gates open at 6:00 PM.
Feeding begins at 7:30 PM.

Adults: $15!

RSVP to the facebook page.

Community Service

Save the date for Saturday, November 21st for our next service event.  We will be helping FarmShare (a food bank) with one of their community distribution.
Volunteers are expected to arrive at 7:30 a.m. at Pearl Plaza Shopping Center. From there, we will be assigned to help bag produce, milk, tea, meat, bread, and water. FarmShare wants to bag as many of these items as possible.

The distribution will start at 9:00 a.m. They expect to serve around 400 people that day. Some volunteers will be helping distribute the bags, others will help people load the items to their car, and others will continue to bag the items.
