The President’s Corner
Many thanks to Dr. Wayne Wood for being our speaker at our last meeting. He shared with us his passion and history of downtown Jacksonville, the creation of organizations like RAP, RAM and the Friends of Hemming Park, and to get involved by volunteering or showing up to special events to support our community.
Dinner with Rotaractors post-meeting.
We have a very full Rotaract weekend ahead of us! We have our social event on Friday night & our service event on Saturday. It is sure to be a fun-filled weekend & you won’t want to miss out. We hope to see you at our Halloween Party on Friday & at Halloween Doors & More on Saturday.
Our next meeting, next week on October 22th will be at Cathedral Arts Project. CAP was the beneficiary to our Black Tie & Blue Jeans gala in May. They are located at 207 N. Laura Street. The entrance is from Laura Street & they are on the third floor. Parking after 5pm downtown should not be a problem – there is usually parking on Adams street between Laura and Ocean.
We will also be inducting 5 new members at this meeting: Andrew Brinson, Lauren Brockmiller, Brittany Cogger, Lauren Lodato & Jonny Taylor.

Her current goal is to become a full-time teacher at an elementary school. If Jordan wasn’t teaching, she’d love to be a professional hostess or event planner (hmm, have we found our next gala chair??). She loves to plan and organize events. Take a look at her planner – it’s next level of organization.
Her favorite Rotaract memory is the karaoke social. Karaoke is one of Jordan’s favorite things and she says it was fun getting to know the other Rotaractors. She also enjoys anything Clemson related, sports, traveling, spending time with family and friends. dancing,/working out, reading and cooking.
Her nickname is joflo – since she’s had since middle school. You can see it’s apart of her IG handle. Also, if she was a drink she would be a Pink Umbrella because she loves all things pink, tropical and girly but it would be strong due to her Irish heritage. If you haven’t met Jordan you should! Welcome to the club, Jordan!!
