President’s Corner 7.16.18

Hi everyone,

What a great Rotaract filled week! We had our first membership meeting of the month and heard from Ryan Backmann, the founder of Project Cold Case. It was great to learn about how they help families with cold cases. If you would like more information on Project Cold Case, follow them on Facebook here.

We had our annual Hail and Farewell event Saturday and it was a blast. This event is a time to celebrate the past year and also for the board to prepare for the upcoming year.

See you all next week for our Second Membership Meeting of July. Remember that guests are always welcome at our meetings, socials, and service events.

Cheers,
Jordan Hollis

Rotaract meets at Hightide Burrito the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Mingling starts at 5:45 in the back room and the meeting starts at 6:30

Our next meeting will be this Thursday, July 26 at Hightide Burrito at 6:30pm.

Community Service
Now – August 3: Stuff The Bus Drive

At our next meeting we will be collecting school supplies for Stuff The Bus. Donations will benefit United Way’s Full Service Schools and Achievers For Life initiatives. There is a suggested list of supplies here. We already collected a ton of supplies and I can’t wait to see how much we end up with!

August 18: Downtown Rotaract’s Drafts, Dogs, & Duuuval

Downtown Rotaract is hosting their annual fundraiser at Hyperion Brewing Company. Tickets are $20 each, and includes three beer tokens and food. All proceeds of this event benefit the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Florida’s First Coast, an organization that advocates for the best interest of abused, abandoned, and neglected children of our community. Go here to purchase tickets.
