Hi everyone,

We had an awesome meeting last Thursday followed by a fun dinner at The Bearded Pig. Our speaker was Julia Kalinski, the Director of Resource Development from Daniel Kids. We learned about her Rotary story and all Daniel Kids does for our community. She also updated us on the visitation center, which was the beneficiary of our 2017 Black Tie Blue Jeans Gala. They were able to fully renovate this space with new floors, fresh paint, rugs, and update the design in general. We look forward to continue working with Julia as our Rotary liaison and with Daniel Kids.

Cheers,
Jordan Hollis

Hi everyone,

What a great Rotaract filled week! We had our first membership meeting of the month and heard from Ryan Backmann, the founder of Project Cold Case. See you all next week for our Second Membership Meeting of July. Remember that guests are always welcome at our meetings, socials, and service events.

Hi everyone!

Jordan Hollis, you’re President Elect, here to give you the latest!

As most of you know, our awesome President, Sara Corrigan, had to take her maternity leave a bit earlier than expected due to some minor complications. I will be filling in until she’s able to come back. Baby Patrick and Sara are fine, but they are just being closely monitored at the hospital through delivery to make sure it stays that way.

This week, Thursday, February 8th, we have our First General Meeting of February and Marie Perry will be our speaker. Marie works in Sales and Operations for Coca-Cola Refreshments. She looks forward to speaking with us about leadership in a corporate setting. Dinner will follow the meeting at Hightide.

This past week, we had to do some last minute changes in our guest speaker. We were fortunate enough to have Jennifer Mackinday from Wounded Warriors come visit our club. Jennifer is a Warriors Speak spokesperson and she shared her unique story about being a caregiver to her brother who had been injured in action.

Beaches Rotaract stopped by our meeting to inform us of their current fundraising event: La Esperanza Water Challenge. It is a really great cause and I hope you take the time to look into it.

Lastly, former member Joe Jones was selected as one of NAIFA- Greater Washington, DC’s four under 40. We are so proud of you, Joe!

Our next meeting will be February 8, 2018 at Hightide Burrito at 6:30pm.
